Dr. M.SENTHIL KUMAR is presently the Professor and Head of the Department of Automobile Engineering, Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, Chennai, India.
He joined Anna University as Assistant Professor in October 2009 and been promoted as Associate Professor in October 2012 and Professor in October 2015.
He has received his B.E. Mechanical engineering degree from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai in 1993 and M.E. Automobile Engineering from M.I.T. Campus Anna University in 1996.
He obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, in August 2003. Later he did his Postdoctoral research in Ecole Des Mines de Nantes, FRANCE during January 2004 – March 2005. Subsequently he joined as Assistant professor in the same Institute (Ecole des mines Nantes, France) in July 2006 and worked for three years from July 2006 to August 2009.
Dr. M.SENTHIL KUMAR has been teaching and guiding for Ph.D. students since 1996. He has completed Two DST sponsored research projects and produced 4 Ph.Ds. He has over 60 publications in highly reputed international journals, 30 papers in international conferences and one patent. His main research interests include, Alternative fuels for CI engines, Dual fuel engines, Engine Heat transfer studies and Engine Modeling.
