Homefest is organised by the student body of the Madras Institute of Technology hostels, The Hostel Committee. Final year hostel students take part in organizing this festival from scratch every year. It was  organised by using the official fund and money from students  . Competitions are conducted between hostel blocks and the winners were given  overall winners award and cash prizes. Culturals are common for both boys and girls . Sports were conducted separately for boys and girls.

The competitions were based on rural games like uri adithal, kabaddi,7 stones etc. This is done to make students feel that MIT is their home away from home. Competitions used to held at hostel spaces infront of hostel office, and Open air theater and using campus areas.Students will have some delightful dinner at the end of the festival.
