1.      Contribution to Department/Institute:

(i)    Handling two theory subjects and one practical subject every semester for UG / PG programmes in the department of Instrumentation Engineering, MIT Campus, Anna University.

(ii) As a co-investigator of the DST project (Rs 31.66 Lakhs) entitled “Design and Development of Automated External Defibrillator” sanctioned in December 2015, I am involved in assisting PI in the software development, equipment purchase and manpower recruitment.

(iii)           As a co-investigator in the UPE–Automated Antobiogram device project (worth Rs. 4.5 crores) sanctioned in June2016, I am involved in the design of microcontroller based automation circuit.

(iv)           As the project officer of the National Hub for Healthcare Instrumentation Development (NHHID), I assisted the coordinators in several activities of the Hub.

(v)  As a Co-investigator of the NHHID project “Establishment of a Centre for Calibration and Testing of Critical Care Medical Devices”, I assisted the coordinator of the project in developing the state-of-the-art calibration facility and preparing it for NABL accreditation.

(vi)           As a mentor for the Wipro-recruits of Anna University, I am helping Wipro trainers in organizing the training programme being conducted in CEG campus regularly every week.

(vii)         As the treasurer of B.E (E&I) Students Association (Instrumentation Engineers Association) for the academic year 2015-16, I managed the accounts for the annual symposium, alumni meet, planning and conducting of technical events, guest lectures, etc. organized by the department.

(viii)      As the Organizing Secretary of the forthcoming international conference TIMA2016 of E&I Department, I am involved in various preparatory activities for conducting the conference.

(ix)           As the Deputy Director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), I am assisting the Director, IQAC in the collection of AQARs from the departments and centres, preparation of consolidated report and submission of the same to NAAC, conduct of training programs, collection of data for university ranking under NIRF etc.

(x)  As the IQAC Campus coordinator of MIT campus, I am involved in the collection of data for preparation of AQAR and also in disseminating the quality enhancement initiatives taken by IQAC – Anna University.

(xi)           As the IQAC Department coordinator for the Dept. of Instrumentation Engg, I am assisting the HOD in preparing the data required for the AQAR and submission of the same to IQAC.

(xii)         As the Project coordinator for the students of B.E (E&I) final year SS Batch, I coordinated the periodic project review meetings and project viva-voce exams.

(xiii)      As the faculty advisor of the students of B.E (E&I) SS Batch, I am coordinating the administrative activities, counseling, documentation of records, etc. pertaining to those students.

(xiv)       As the Faculty in charge of Electronics & Integrated Circuits Lab, I am involved in the purchase of equipment and consumables for the lab and also in preparing the lab manual for Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab, Analog and Digital Integrated Circuits Lab.

(xv)         As the Chief Superintendent – PG exams of the Department of Instrumentation Engg, I coordinated the conduct of PG exams during November 2014.

(xvi)       As the Ph.D coordinator of the Department, I coordinated the research scholar activities during 2012-2013.

ACTIVITIES EXECUTED IN THE CAPACITY OF CO-PI, CALIB FACILITY OF NHHID (DST FUNDED PROEJCT)

 

1.      Initial preparations before the establishment of the facility:

Fully involved in the preparation of the complete layout of the facility, floor plan, furniture, storage cupboards, lab ambiance planning, naming of the various sections of the facility, work flow details, etc.

 

2.      Initial visits made to various accredited calibration labs:

Visited the following accredited calibration labs to gather information about the requirements to be satisfied for ISO-17025 accreditation by NABL.

·        Review of hospital visits made by the project staff and correction of the procedures followed for on-site calibration

 

5.      Training activities:

 

·        Provided guidance and training on various activities of the calibration facility for the newly inducted project staff members of calibration facility, from time to time (Ms. Bakiyalakshmi, Mr. Sathiyamoorthy, Ms. Akila).

·        Coordinated a tutorial on “Healthcare Instrumentation” during the International Conference TIMA-2013 (Trends in Industrial Measurements and Automation ).

·        Presented 4 sessions on the topics “Multi-para Monitor”, “Importance of Calibration”, “Overview of NHHID” and “Calibration facility of NHHID” to the Doctors, Nurses and Biomedical Engineers during the “DIVMED” workshop, conducted at Stanley Medical Hospital, in February 2016.

Appendix I

ACTIVITIES EXECUTED IN THE CAPACITY OF PROJECT OFFICER II, NHHID:

1.      SCM:

Attended all the Steering Committee meetings (SCM) since April 2012 till date and prepared the minutes for the meetings. Also assisted in the preparation of Powerpoint presentations for co-coordinator during a few of the meetings.

2.      CC Meetings

Attended almost all the Coordination Committee (CC) meetings since April 2012 and prepared the minutes for the meetings.

3.      EC meetings:

Attended the Executive Committee (EC) meetings conducted after April 2012 and prepared the minutes for the meetings.

4.      Recruitment panel member:

Served as a panel member several times, for recruitment of project associate, special officer, JRF, etc.

5.      Medicall 2012 Expo:

Actively involved in booking a stall and arranging the exhibits for the participation of NHHID in Medical 2012, Annual Medical Expo conducted in August 2012 in Chennai Trade Centre.

Represented NHHID at the AIMED meeting held on 6^th Nov, 2015, held at National habitat centre, New Delhi and publicized the activities of NHHID to the medical device manufacturers and representatives from medical research institutions, GoI departments, etc.
